Avignon

Update of the state of the path sector Avignon on June 24, 2011:

In general the trail is good. Work of undergrowth clearance and the cut of the trees fallen into the path are in hand. The path should be without obstruction in a week. A new toilet for the refuge Quartz will be installed soon

Matapedia Valley

June 19, 2011: The gateway to the Shell Creek (ruisseau à la Coque) was straightened, the household of eight shelters was made. There are still some trees to be cut from the bridge of eight miles and falls. By Gaétan Roy

June 7, 2011: The entire trail is practicable in the Valley. The report from the bridge of "huit milles" and the falls at Causapscal is missing. Overall, there are very few trees fell. However, the water level in streams is very high. Some work still to achieve recurring: suspension bridge at Hull Creek to straighten, change the strings of the Creek Crossing Hollow, household of eight shelters in the Valley, a culvert over again, but practicable to improve signaling to some locations, new route to be made between Ste-Marguerite and Causapscal via the installation of a wind farm, to build a small bridge over a beaver dam, to build suspension bridge over the stream Langis, etc.. We have already met hikers who walked up to the Matapédia Valley. Good participation of sponsors this year. By Gaétan Roy.

Matane Wild Life Reserve

August 4th: Leading to the rise in MontNicole-Albert, there is a fallen tree that makes climbing difficult. The rope facilitating this rise will be soon useless as the tree it's attached to is broken. (Google traduction)

July 12, 2011: problem solved: (June 15, 2011 : the big Creek Lake lac Matane, there are several fallen trees and bypass is difficult. A chore is necessary for this sector.)

July 7, 2011: in the section of the trail of the clerics located between Summit 839 m and the peak of the Desjarlais, 15 fallen trees, especially in the southern part. Overall the trail is in good condition. By Jean-Claude

June 29, 2011: the gateway near the chute Hélène is considered dangerous. A rope was installed to allow to pass. By Julie LeBlanc, head-Guide, the Chic-Chocs Mountain Lodge

June 28, 2011: 22-23 and 24 June, I borrowed rivière Cap-Chat SIA trail on Mount Logan.  The trail is in excellent condition.  However, there were still a few plates of snow on Mount Matawe.  I met a guide to the eco-lodge with a client on the Collins. The guide has mentioned do not borrow the old trail SIA (loop) because of fallen trees.  Damage... I came by this trail is in excellent condition and would require only a few hours to remove the fallen trees.  The eco-lodge would have any benefit, in my view, keep.  The canvas of the sanctuary to the Bascon Creek was damaged by a bear, and the shelter of the Eco-lodge.  The trail of the foot of the Mount Logan Fortin would require some small work that I propose to make next week. By Pierre Bornais

June 24, 2011: for the portion of the trail led to the Bascon Creek and mount Matawe, should be taken to the bridge of Chute Hélène, because repairs are necessary. For the trail leading to the Collins, pay attention to the indications, as should be about 500 m before the first tag. He was also asked to respect the principles without traces to not degrade the accommodation sites. Even though there are dark trees, the trail is passable. By Marc-André Lavoie, Guide in adventure tourism.

June 23, 2011: in the area of the Lake Beaulieu, the bridge over the Creek that feeds the Lake did not resist to the forces of nature, but it is still possible to pass. By Eddy Pellerin

June 15, 2011: Jacques Bérubé reported that trail is accessible even if there some trees to cross in some areas for the section of Route 195 in Lac Matane. Between the Matane Lake and Lake Gros Ruisseau, there are several fallen trees and circumvention is difficult. A drudgery is requires in this sector.

May 30, 2011: Please be careful in the Matane Wildlife Reserve since you will find bridges inverted crossed in difficult areas (between Lake Haulers by Brook Pitoune). There are also many downed trees. John's post to the site of the Three Sisters portion of the 2nd river is a bit tricky. By Philippe Rosset

Upper Gaspé

August 4th: In the area between the lake Cabourons and refuge the Cabourons, and leaving the Parc de la Gaspésie on the way to Mont St-Pierre, the vegetation has taken over the trail. It is still possible to use this part. Starting from the Mont-St-Pierre to go to the Parc de la Gaspésie, in the area or the path joins the road, the signs are sometimes missing. (Google traduction)

June 18: A clean-up of fallen trees allowed making traffic much easier in the south of the refuge Cabourons in the wildlife reserve in the Chic-Chocs. By Jean-Pierre Gagnon (lead)

June 11, 2011: A chore of clearing on the cliff of L'Anse-Pleureuse has improved a lot the trail conditions. By Jean-Pierre Gagnon (lead)

June 4, 2011: A chore brush and signaling was made upstream of the cross of Mont-Louis. The trail was difficult some places because of regrowth and inadequate indications. By Jean-Pierre Gagnon (lead)

Gaspe Coast

July 7, 2011: We inform you that the shelter of the camping Les Cascades is damaged, repairs are planned next week. We will notify you when it will be repaired. By Jean-Marc

July 7, 2011: the inspection is completed for the Côte-de-Gaspé, the trail is generally in good condition. A few sections with lots of chablis (isolated trees) as the section of Cloridorme (refuge the Cascades) in the direction is up to Saint-Yvon and that of the Anse-à-Valleau in the direction is to the Érablière refuge. These fallen trees are generally isolated and have no difficulty. The section of river-fork (to the West of the sanctuary, the maple wood) to the Érablière refuge is very bushy, but still passable. Finally the bridges damaged by floods last December have been the subject of temporary repairs and are now safe. Finally, it should be noted that the shelter camping Cascades (lean-to) is out of use for an indeterminate period. For any additional information in the Côte-de-Gaspé areas on contact Jean-Marc Hardy at 418-368-9242 or email hardyjmc@globetrotter.net

July 06, 2011:  The trail is passable from Madeleine to Cap Gaspé.The toilet seat in the Grand Falls camping Madeleine could not be fixed yet. Anse à Valleau.   There are several fallen trees from the camping Les Terrasses to Rivière-au-Renard.
