![]() Description of the trail
This trail, length of approximately 1034 km, between the Katahdin mount in Maine and Cap-Gaspe at Forillon, of which 644 km are in Quebec, should attract Canadian, American tourists and Europeans which are devoted to short long excursion. Approximately one the third of the trail, is 144 km between Matapedia, Amqui and the Matane river, will pass close to inhabited cities or villages, the valley of Matapedia until Saint-Rene-of-Matane. Moreover, between mount Saint-Pierre and Cap-Gaspe in the Forillon National Park (248 km), it will be a trail about "sea and mountain" since certain sections will be done on the beach of the St. Lawrence.

These maps are presented to give a general idea of the course of the trail. However, if you are planning a hike, you should buy the topographic maps which present information about the distances, the access trails and the campsites. Even if you are planning a short hike, it is highly recommended that you buy the topographic map related to the area you are going to hike in.
