The Assemetquagan River is very high, hip level for fording. There is a "Plan B" for bypassing the river.
If the hiker cannot or does not want to ford the Assemetquagan River, he must retrace his steps in the direction of Le Quartz refuge for 2.2km to see the signs for Plan B. 13 KM further on a path forest there is the refuge of the Marquis de Malauze which can be used. There is on site a stove, benches, a table, toilets, a wood BBQ outside.
The next day you will have to walk 20km to get to the SIA-QC shelter in the municipality of Sainte-Marguerite.
