Accommodations Along the IAT-QC
The International Appalachian Trail – Quebec features nearly 50 campsites spread over 650 km. Each of these sites is equipped with a shelter or cabin, as well as tent platforms.
To ensure trail maintenance and user contributions, as well as to account for fluctuations in visitor traffic during low and high seasons, the rates for accommodations (tent platforms, shelters, and cabins) managed by the SIA QC are now adjusted based on location and season.
Avignon, Matapédia Valley, Haute-Gaspésie, and Côte-de-Gaspé
- Low season: June 1 to 30 and August 17 to September 25
- Peak season: July 1 through August 16
- Winter season: October 26 (after the firearm hunting season) through May 31
Matane Wildlife Reserve
- Low season: June 1 to 30 and August 17 to October 30
- High season: July 1 through August 16
- Winter season: November 1 to May 31
For the Gaspésie National Park sector, rates and low- and high-season periods are set by SÉPAQ and do not include daily access fees. Hikers are required to purchase an access pass directly from SÉPAQ.
For the Forillon National Park sector, reservations must be made directly with Parks Canada.

Shelters
Closed off with a tarp or patio door; inside, there are 4 beds without mattresses. The shelters protect you from the rain, but there may be drafts inside.
Cabins
Sleeps 4 to 8 people; each shelter is equipped with a wood stove, and the beds have mattresses. There are no dishes or a stove on site. In winter, please confirm with us before your stay to see if firewood is available on site.
Platforms
Each platform is equipped with an iron cable to anchor your tent. A platform can accommodate 2 small single or double tents or a single 3- to 4-person tent. Depending on the type of tents you have, “Fishbone Tent Anchors” might be a good option for you.
